Technical Data
FIRE
GIS Party Wall DPC is a high-performance, fire-resistant cavity closer that is manufactured usingKnauf ECOSE Rock Slab, which has a fire classification of EUROCCASS A1. The slab is encapsulatedin recycled plastic, which does not add to the propagation of a fire. The DPC backing is made toBS6515:84. All GIS Party Wall DPC is tested in application to BSEN1366-4 as was BS476: Part 20using current fire test methods.

ACOUSTIC
GIS Party Wall DPC is an effective sound barrier that meets the generic requirements for theprevention of flanking noise transmission, along external walls and party wall cavities. It helps tomeet Approved Document E of the Building Regulations, which sets out the minimum standards forsound insulation in new dwellings.

COMPLIANCE
The fitting of GIS Duo Cavity Socks conforms to the requirements set out in Part E of the RobustDetails scheme. Our socks meet E-WM 1-21 for masonry in separating and party walls, E-WT 1-4 fortimber frame in separating / party walls, and E-FT 1-6 for separating floor applications. Our sockscomply with E-FC 1-14 for concrete in separating floor applications.

ENVIRONMENT
Our Environmental policy aims to reduce waste and minimise our carbon footprint, with afocus on product selection. KNAUF INSULATION mineral wool slab utilises ECOSEtechnology - the UK's first organic binder for mineral wool.
These slabs are CFC and HCFC-free, with no other ozone depletion potential elements,exceeding BREEAM requirements with a ZERO ODP and GWP classification. Using theseproducts can help achieve environmentally conscious design considerations.

THERMAL
The socks have a thermal conductivity of 0.035W/mK. When installed, they provide an efficientperimeter edge seal, meeting building regulations L1A and L2A, as well as section 6 of the Scottishbuilding standards.

Installation

GIS 1200mm long Party Wall DPC can be used in both brick/block and brick/timber frameparty wall applications.
To install, compress the DPC vertically at the party wall junction during construction.Make sure all butt joints are tightly fitted to maintain the fire and acoustic integrity of theproduct. A minimum of 50mm overlap with the party wall leaf on either side of the partywall cavity must be maintained to meet current fire and acoustic requirements.
It is critical that the DPC fills the cavity from the rear of the outer leaf to the face of theinner leaf. Any cavity insulation must be cut back at either side of the party wall in theouter cavity to allow this fitting method.
When fitting vertically, the 100mm end lap must be fitted at the bottom. As the buildprogresses, the lap forms a continual barrier preventing the ingress of moisture.

HANDLING

The product is packaged in outer polythene bags for transportation and easy handling.To maintain its quality, it is important not to store the product in direct sunlight asprolonged exposure can cause the plastic to degrade.
For optimal storage, we recommend covering or storing the goods indoors if they willbe standing for an extended period before use.
