Damp Proof Course

A damp proof course is an impermeable barrier used in both the external and internal walls to prevent moisture rising from the ground level. The damp proof course is usually installed at 150mm above the height of the exterior ground level to prevent moisture rising through capillary action and also prevent rainwater from splashing off the ground and saturating the brickwork above it.
